Getting started
What is Pattern?
Pattern is a content strategist for Instagram and TikTok creators. You connect your accounts, and Pattern watches your recent videos: what you said, what was on screen, how it sounded, and how each one actually performed.
It turns that into a weekly plan: what's working, what to fix, and exactly what to film next, with the reasoning behind every pick. You never have to sit down and analyse your own account again.
How is this different from my Instagram and TikTok analytics, or from a general AI tool?
Your native analytics tell you what happened. Views, watch time, follows. They never tell you why a video worked, and they never tell you what to make next.
General AI tools will happily write you a script, but they can't watch your videos automatically and they aren't connected to your performance data, so they're guessing about your audience.
Pattern sits between the two. It watches the actual footage and reads the actual numbers, so every recommendation traces back to something that already happened in your own account.
How many followers or posts do I need for this to work?
There's no follower minimum. Pattern is built for creators who are still figuring out what works, less for accounts that already made it.
Posts matter more than followers. We suggest 5 or more published videos: that's the point where Pattern can compare your posts against each other and tell you what your best content has in common. Below that it still builds your creator profile and your weekly plan, it just tells you plainly which comparisons it can't make yet.
One requirement worth knowing before you sign up: your Instagram account needs to be a professional account (Creator or Business). That's Instagram's own rule for accessing your insights, and switching is free and takes about thirty seconds in the Instagram app.
Which platforms does Pattern support?
Instagram and TikTok, through both platforms' official APIs. Pattern is an approved Meta and TikTok developer, so connecting never involves handing over your password or using a workaround.

What actually happens in my first week?
Connecting takes about two clicks per platform. Pattern then scans your recent posts and watches them, which usually takes a few minutes depending on how much content you have.
You finish setup with a creator profile: your content pillars, your tone of voice, and the formats you're strongest at, all derived from your real posts. You also get your first weekly analysis and a calendar of what to film next.
After that, a fresh analysis lands every week on the day you pick during setup, and you can change that day any time in settings.
How it works
Is it safe to connect my Instagram and TikTok?
Yes. You connect through Instagram's and TikTok's own official login screens, so Pattern never sees or stores your password.
By default Pattern asks only for read access: your own posts and your own insights. It cannot see your DMs, and it cannot see anyone else's private data. Access tokens are encrypted at rest.
You can disconnect either account at any time from your settings. That deletes our copy of your access token straight away and asks the platform to revoke it. If the platform's revoke call fails we still delete our copy, so if you want a guaranteed cut-off, remove Pattern from your Instagram or TikTok app settings as well.
What does Pattern actually do with my videos?
It reads each video across four layers: the transcript (what you said), the visuals (pacing, framing, text on screen, what's happening in frame), the audio (delivery, energy, sound choices), and your real performance data for that post.
Those layers are combined so Pattern can connect a specific creative choice to a specific outcome, which is the thing a numbers dashboard structurally cannot do.
Your content is used to generate your own analysis. We do not sell it, we do not share it with other creators.
Does Pattern post to my accounts for me?
No. Nothing is ever published without you.
Pattern connects read-only. Publishing is a separate permission you grant in a second, explicit consent screen, and you only ever see that screen if you turn cross-posting on yourself.
Even then, Pro's cross-posting lets you schedule to Instagram and TikTok from one place, but you choose the video, the caption and the time, and you press the button.
Will the ideas sound like me, or like AI?
From your own recent posts, Pattern builds a model of how you actually talk: your pillars, your phrasing, the way you open and close. Every script and hook is written through it.
Treat what you get as a strong first draft rather than a finished post. The point isn't to hand you words to read out; it's that you never start from a blank page, and the idea underneath already has evidence behind it.
What if I disagree with the weekly plan?
Ignore it. It's a plan, not a mandate, and you know things about your audience and your life that no tool does.
Every recommendation comes with the reason it was picked, precisely so you can judge it instead of taking it on faith. And each run is rebuilt against your latest posts, so the next plan is written from what actually happened rather than from last week's guess.
Pricing and billing
Do I need a card for the 7-day trial?
Yes. You need to add a card when you start the trial, and you are not charged for 7 days.
Cancel any time before day 7 and you pay nothing at all.
What's the difference between Creator and Pro?
Creator is $20/month (or $200/year) and is the full strategy product: your creator profile, automated weekly analysis and content calendar, unlimited draft reviews before you post, and unlimited competitor breakdowns rewritten in your voice.
Pro is $30/month (or $300/year) and adds an AI chatbot trained on your own content and analytics, and cross-posting and scheduling to both platforms from one place, and priority scanning so your weekly analysis runs first in the queue.
Competitor breakdowns and draft reviews are not held back for the higher tier. They're included on all plans.
Is there a way to try it without a card?
Yes. You can run free draft reviews and free competitor breakdowns (limited usage) without connecting an account or entering a card.
Those are the standalone tools. The weekly analysis and creator profile need your accounts connected, so they start with the trial.
Can I cancel any time?
Yes. Open Billing in your settings, choose Manage subscription, and cancel from the Stripe portal that opens. We ask one question about why you're leaving on the way out. That's the whole of it: no phone call, no chat queue, nobody trying to talk you round.
When you cancel you keep access until the end of the period you've already paid for.
Your data
Can I delete my data?
Yes, and you have three ways to do it: request deletion from our data deletion page, email us directly, or disconnect the account from inside Pattern.
A deletion request removes your account data within 30 days, along with everything derived from it: every analysis, profile and report. We email you to confirm once it's done.
Disconnecting is a different thing and does not delete anything by itself: it unlinks the account and leaves your history in place, so reconnecting picks up where you left off. The disconnect dialog has a checkbox to also remove that platform's posts and follower history, which schedules them for deletion 90 days later. Your creator profile and past reports are not covered by that checkbox.
So if what you want is everything gone, send a deletion request. That is the one route that removes all of it.
